The Eurocollege IELTS/CGFNS/NCLEX programme is for Healthcare professionals educated and trained overseas or for Irish nurses wishing to undertake work assignments in the U.S.A or Canada. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is administered by the British Council and the University of Cambridge and is a linguistic standard recognised worldwide by Universities and professional organisations.
Eurocollege is an established IELTS Training provider with an history of achieving excellent IELTS results appropriate to the score required by professional organisations including Healthcare, Engineering, IT and the Sciences.
The IELTS examination is a well-designed examination instrument and far more accurate in its assessment than other testing systems like TOEFL. However, it is also true that many people do not display their true ability in the test. In fact, many do worse than their level. Thus, the purpose of a good IELTS preparation course is to ensure than you show your true abilities in Academic English. Another important reason for preparing for IELTS is to provide focus for your Professional English studies, especially if you are a high-flying non-European professional, as IELTS is the most highly recognised English Language Examination across a range of professions including Healthcare, Engineering, IT, Medical and the Sciences. There are specific skills that are being measured which are not addressed in a General English class. For this reason, IELTS preparation provides students with more efficient ways to study English in a short time period and Eurocollege trainers are especially trained to meet this need, as we understand the exacting needs of our students. Knowing that the IELTS is mainly about skills, rather than knowledge can help you to focus your self-studies in a more effective direction. Many students unnecessarily waste too much time building more knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary in preparation for the test, forgetting that the more important issue is the skills in producing, using and connecting words and ideas. Whilst knowledge is power, building skills and strategies through practice is an effective way to produce a high score in a short time.
It is imperative that qualified nurses aspiring to work in the U.S.A. hold a nursing license issued by the U.S. state. To attain licensure nurses must present for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
